Pakistan team celebrates Eid ul Adha in Florida after T20 World Cup disappointment
Wicketkeeper-batter Muhammad Rizwan led Eid prayer
Pakistan's cricket squad celebrated Eid ul Adha in Lauderhill, Florida and offering prayers at a hotel led by wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan.
The team exchanged greetings and captured group photos during the festive occasion.
Pakistan encountered disappointment in the T20 World Cup 2024 by failing to progress to the Super 8 stage. Captain Babar Azam and players Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir, Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan, and Azam Khan decided to prolong their stay in the United States.
Mohammad Amir is soon departing for England to join Derbyshire County Cricket Club, while Coach Gary Kirsten plans to return home following the team's elimination. The remainder of the squad is scheduled to depart from Miami later tonight via Dubai, arriving in Pakistan on June 19.
Pakistan concluded their tournament campaign with a notable three-wicket victory over Ireland at Lauderhill's Central Broward Regional Park Stadium. They finished third in their group with four points, having suffered defeats against the United States and India in their initial matches.
