Cristiano Ronaldo loses massive football record
The Al Nassr player is used to setting records, however, this UEFA record is being taken away from him
Star football player Cristiano Ronaldo is used to setting records; however, this one record is being taken away from him.
The Al Nassr player lost one of his scoring records for the European knockout on Wednesday night as Olympiakos won the Europa League, Sport Bible reported.
He shared this UEFA record with Radamel Falcao and former Madrid teammate Karim Benzema.
However, Ayoub El Kaabi has now seized the spot of all three individuals. He scored the game-winning goal in the 116th minute to help Olympiakos defeat Fiorentina and win their first-ever European trophy.
The former Real Madrid player owns numerous European records and had won four Champions League titles while playing for Los Blancos. One of those was being the top scorer in a knockout stage of a European competition, scoring 10 times in their 2016-17 success.
Since his starting days, the Portuguese player has come a long way and has scored more than 800 goals in total.
Earlier this week, Ronaldo broke a record by scoring 35 goals in 31 games. The Portuguese player also took his personal goal tally to 50 in the 2023–24 season for Al Nassr.
The team also breached the 100-goal mark in the league for the first time in their history.
