Diddy has broken his silence over the viral video of him brutally assaulting Cassie in a 2016 video that was only recently released.
On Sunday, May 19, Sean “Diddy” Combs, 54, took to Instagram to share his statement via a video, captioning it, “I’m truly sorry.”
“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life,” he began in the video.
He continued, “Sometimes you gotta do that. I was f***ed up. I mean, I hit rock bottom but I make no excuses. My behaviour on that video is inexcusable,” adding, “I take full responsibility for my actions in that video.”
The video in question shows the music mogul chasing, pushing, and kicking his then-girlfriend Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura, who recently filed and settled a lawsuit against Diddy detailing years of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse.
“Disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, I’m disgusted now,” Diddy said in reaction to his actions captured in the CCTV footage.
“I went and I sought out professional help, going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask god for his mercy and grace,” he further shared, adding, “I’m so sorry, but I’m committed to be a better man. Each and every day.”
He concluded by saying that he’s “not asking for forgiveness” but that he’s still “truly sorry.”
