PESHAWAR: The police foiled a major terror bid after killing an alleged terrorist and recovered a suicide jacket from a hotel room in Peshawar.
Police, during the search operation, conducted routine checking in a room of a local hotel of Dabgari Gardens area on Tuesday morning where the suspect started firing at the police party from inside his room.
The personnel retaliated and hurled a gas bomb inside the room. The alleged terrorist was killed in exchange of fire.
Police claimed to have recovered a suicide vest from the room.
According to sources, the deceased was identified as Yahya hailing from Waziristan while he was residing in room number 204 at the fourth floor of a local hotel.
The police have started further investigation over the incident.
