Inside Abu Dhabi's dazzling $478 million mansion, home to world’s richest family

Abu Dhabi’s "Palace of the Nation," home to the richest family in the world is open for the public to visit and marvel at, CNN reported.

The "Qasr Al-Watan," a grandiose structure that spans 380,000 square meters, is valued at $478 million.

The head of the Nahyan family, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan who is the President of the UAE and the ruler of Abu Dhabi, lives there along with his 18 brothers, 11 sisters, nine children, and 18 grandchildren.

Based inside the Presidential Palace complex in the UAE capital, Qasr Al Watan pays homage to Arabian heritage and design.

The house also features the Qasar Al Watan Library, which boasts a collection of over 50,000 books and resources.

The impressive palace is open to the public seven days a week from 11am to 6:30pm.

Visitors are able to explore a host of facilities and attractions during their visit, including the extensive gardens, The Great Hall, visitor's centre, the courtyard, and more.

In the evening a sound and light show, titled Palace in Motion, which celebrates the culture and heritage of the UAE, brings the outside of the building to life.
