ISLAMABAD: A local court in Islamabad has issued arrest warrants for former chairman Senate Nayyar Bukhari and his son Jarar Shah for thrashing a cop at entry gate of F-8 Kachehri.
The Margala Police on Wednesday registered an FIR against the former custodian of the Upper House under sections 353/506/186/34 PPC on the complaint of Muhammad Riaz, a head constable of Special Branch, Islamabad, who was deployed at the entry point with other cops.
“I was engaged in body search of the people coming to the district court at 9:30am on Wednesday during threat alert when two persons tried to enter without body search but one of them thrashed me publicly when I asked them for body search,” the complainant said, adding that Nayyar Bokhari used humiliating language against him saying, “Don’t you know who am I?”.
Police initiated an investigation after registration of FIR.
Meanwhile, opposition leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah slammed IG Islamabad for the FIR against Nayyar Bukhari. He asked the police chief where he was when police personnel were attacked there.
Shah said, “the IG Islamabad is behaving like a loyal more than the king himself.”
He said the matter of FIR against former chairman would be brought in the parliament.
