Toliver's stroke of luck came when she purchased five Wild Cash Multiplier Scratch-off tickets. To her surprise, one of them revealed three “7” symbols, signifying a jackpot win, as confirmed by the Kentucky Lottery.
"I screamed!" she exclaimed to lottery officials, with her joy reverberating through the room, startling her boyfriend and son. She had initially expected to win a modest , but reality far exceeded her expectations.
"One minute, it’s like breathe, the next minute, it’s like stop laughing. I can hear the scream over and over again in my head,” she shared.
With her heart pounding, she made her way to Kentucky Lottery headquarters in Louisville to claim her prize - a hefty ,800 after taxes.
The substantial amount enabled Toliver to make a significant life decision - to quit her job. "I was unhappy with my job and God made a way,” she said, expressing relief at leaving and optimism about finding new employment.
In a ripple effect of her win, Skyline Fuel, the store where Toliver bought her winning ticket, will receive a 0 bonus from lottery officials.
