TAMBOO: Journalists took out a rally on World Press Freedom Day in Dera Murad Jamali Tuesday.
Rally was led by former President Benazir Bhutto press Club Muhammad Ayub Bhutto.
Besides journalists in large number, political, social people and civil society representatives participated in the rally.
Addressing the participants, they said journalists community has been suffering from insecurity in Balochistan as elsewhere in the country. The arrest of journalists Irshad Mastoi and Khwaja is a matter of grave concern.
Journalists in Balochistan including Nasirabad, despite tough conditions, were playing important role for dissemination of people’s voice to high ups but provincial government was not providing security to journalists, working at district level and was not providing any incentive for education, health to their children.
They urged journalistic bodies to promote unity among their ranks and files to ensure security of their rights.
