Front, middle or back?
According to United States, National Transportation Safety Board, which conducted a study of 20 plane crashes, it found that people sitting at the back of a plane had higher chances of staying alive while compared to those at the front.
People in the front had 49% chances of survival, people sitting in the middle had 59% chances at survival and people at the back were the safest with 69% of survival.
Window, middle or aisle?
The Federal Aviation Administration studied data from crashes since 1985 to 2000 and found that people sitting in the middle seats of the rear section were the safest with a fatality rate of 28%.
While the most unsafe were aisle seats in the middle section of the plane with a fatality rate of 44%.
