Chris Brown alleges last-minute disinvitation from NBA celebrity all-star game
Chris Brown blames sponsor's intervention for NBA disinvitation
Chris Brown, the singer, has asserted that the 2024 NBA Celebrity All-Star Game will feature one of his hit songs, Say Goodbye.
According to Brown, he initially received an invitation to participate in the event, but his plans were subsequently thwarted by a sponsor's intervention.
Brown, who has faced ongoing repercussions stemming from a domestic abuse incident involving his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, as well as other legal issues, once again found himself grappling with the fallout of past actions.
In a statement shared on his Instagram story and reported by Complex Sports, he expressed frustration over the situation, stating, "I was asked by the NBA to play in the all-star game this year! Only for them to call later and say they couldn’t do IT because of their sponsors like RUFFLES."
The singer further vented his feelings, declaring his weariness of being continuously reminded of his past and emphasized his decision not to dwell on it any longer.
Despite the setback, he asserted his stance, firmly rejecting an offer to attend the game as a court-side spectator.
Chris recently shared a screenshot of an email he received on January 22, bearing the subject line "NBA All-Star 2024 Welcome x Chris Brown."
The email, addressed to Brown, conveyed a warm welcome to the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend, expressing excitement about his participation in the event.
Furthermore, Brown was provided with details regarding the uniform he would wear for the occasion.
