A man was shot dead when a woman entered a bar in San Pedro and opened fire, wounding another two people, with local authorities saying the suspect was still on the run, according to local media reports.

Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman said that officers were called at approximately 12:15am to the Machista Bar in the 900 block of South Pacific Street, near 10th Avenue.

The LAPD noted that before a woman opened fire on the people, there was a noisy brawl at the bar. As the shots were fired, one male died on the spot.

However, the two other people were transported to the hospital where authorities termed their condition stable.

According to the authorities, there was no description of the shooter earlier who left the scene after striking three people.

Officials noted that the search is still underway to trace the woman.

Los Angeles police urged people to help them find the suspect who is said to be a Hispanic woman in her 20s or 30s.

Pacific Avenue remains closed between 9th and 11th Streets while the investigation continues.

Separately, at least three people were shot dead and two were injured after a shooting took place at a short-term rental home in Harris County, outside Houston Saturday, local media reported.

Officials found two dead people as they responded to the scene while the third one succumbed to injuries at the hospital.

As the officers arrived at the scene, it was chaotic in the city of Katy, according to local media KPRC 2.

Authorities did not release the identities of the victims however, they said people who attended the gathering were mostly in their twenties

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said during a press conference: "We believe this was a small gathering that turned deadly."

Sheriff also noted that investigators aren’t sure whether the suspected shooter or shooters were already inside the house, or if someone came uninvited to the house and began opening fire.

"Police are working to investigate the shooting and identify suspects and determine if other people were injured," Gonzalez said.
