ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Defence, Khawaja Asif on Sunday called for a forensic audit of funds colleted under Imran Khan Foundation (IKF) for rehabilitation of flood affectees.
Talking to media persons, the Defence Minister said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan collected Rs4 billion under IKF for the rehabilitation of flood affectees but it was misused and demanded its forensic audit.
“It is the right of Pakistanis to know where this money was spent. Was that money invested in offshore accounts?” he wondered.
Reacting to the above statement, PTI leader Naeemul Haq termed Khawaja Asif’s demand a reasonable one.
However, he said that he had nothing to do with the board of IKF.
Moreover, Naeemul Haq said Sharif family’s property worth billions of rupees outside the country should also be brought under scrutiny.
