PTI to hold local bodies elections in May: CM Khattak

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pervaiz Khattak says local bodies elections will be held in the province in the month of May.
Speaking to a delegation at the Chief Minister House, Khattak added, that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government wishes to implement a transparent local government system in the province.
Following the local bodies elections, Khattak said, the entities would be empowered to take decisions regarding operational and financial matters. He added that districts will be given additional funds to the tune of Rs. 40 million.
The provincial government will make poverty alleviation a priority. The CM assured, that development funds will be utilized in a transparent manner and no political bias will be allowed in disbursement of funds.
