Rs 10m for UC enrolling maximum PML workers: minister

MANDI BAHAUDDIN: Punjab Health Minister Dr Tahir Ali Javed has said fake memberships will not be tolerated and Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi will himself monitor such complaints.

Addressing a Pakistan Muslim League workers’ convention here on Monday, he said the union council, which would enrol maximum people, would be awarded Rs 10m prize while the runner up would be awarded Rs 5 million prize. Speaking on the occasion, Punjab Transport Minister Rana Shamshad Ahmad Khan said the workers were the backbone of any politic party and therefore, the chief minister had always worked for the welfare of his party’s workers. He asked the PML leaders to reorganise the party at the union council level. District Nazim Riaz Asghar Warraich, MPAs Hamida Waheed, Fazal Ikram, Asif Gondal, PML Women Wing Punjab president Shahana Farooqi and others were also present.

PM SEEKS REPORT FOR DELAYING SUI GAS SUPPLY: MNA Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry has said Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has sought a report regarding delay in Sui gas supply to the City. In a statement here on Monday, he said the prime minister had asked his Principal Secretary Javed Sadiq Malik to submit the report in a week.
