After the arrest of Arshad Papu, said sources, command of his gang was given over jointly to Ghaffar Zikri and Majeed Speed. Sources added that, a few years back, famed gangster Ustaad Iqbal alias Babu Dakait adopted an Iranian national, Majeed, who later came to be known as Majeed Speed. Babu Dakait groomed Speed in the craft of gang warfare and the use of arms.
The modus operandi of the gang was dacoity, snatching of bicycles and the selling of girls. Later, continued sources, they formed links a big hashish dealer, Sohail, alias Soldier, and started the business of drug smuggling and kidnapping of affluent citizens.
In the 90s, during the crackdown on the Lyari gang war, Babu Dakait was arrested and Speed fled to Iran.
However, when Rehman Dakait killed Babu Dakait, Speed returned to Karachi and held the command of the area possessed by Babu and joined the Arshad Papu gang.
According to reports, Speed was found guilty in various cases of Zina - he abducted girls from Lyari and, after raping them, threatened them and their families against reporting the cases.
