Close Jamia Hafsa, demolish Lal Masjid: Altaf

KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief, Altaf Hussain, has demanded of the concerned intelligence agencies and the army to demolish the Lal Masjid and close Jamia Hafsa as Lal Masjid Khateeb Maulana Abdul Aziz had declared the Peshawar School attack a reaction of terrorists and Jamia Hafsa had trained the Taliban and terrorists. He also demanded the arrest of Lal Masjid cleric.
Addressing a massive national solidarity rally “United Against Taliban” staged on Friday in solidarity with the Peshawer martyrs and in support of the army, he said innocent children were slaughtered in cold-blood and these beasts them one by one.
The rally started from ‘Purani Numaish’ and terminated at Tibet Centre. The entire route was barricaded by placing containers and other barriers as security concerns. A large number of supporters and activists converged at the main venue from different parts of the city and entire MQM cabinet MNAs, MPAs were also present.
This was a rare show of unity, with political parties including ruling PPP, PML-F, PML-Q and PML-N leaders attended the rally and with one voice paid salute to the leader of MQM chief Altaf Hussain for uniting all the political parties at one platform giving message to the world that nation is united and different political parties too on one page in this difficult time and we could not be bowed down due to these cowardice acts.
Before the chief of MQM spoke to the gathering, National Anthem was played. Altaf addressed on video link from London and asked his supporters and activists to drop the party flag and raised Pakistan’s flag as it is not rally of MQM but the National Solidarity Rally.The spellbound activists silently put down the party flags, raised Pakistan’s flags and shouted slogans, ‘Altaf, Altaf, Hum Nah Hon Humarey Baad Altaf, Altaf’.
Hussain said that Peshawar tragedy has united the country against terrorism, and if we want to save Pakistan we have to weed out terrorism and in

this relation he referred to the incident of Masjid-e-Zarar in the days of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) when uprising took place and hypocrites under the garb of Islam damaged the Muslims and our Prophet (PBUH) ordered demolition of Masjid-e-Zarar. In the same way he demanded of the government to bulldoze Lal Masjid.
He said that there should not be any discrimination between good and bad Taliban as they are enemies of Pakistan, humanity and Islam. He said that the army chief was the bravest general in the world while the ISI chief is handsome general and if he worked for films he must be selected as a hero.
Without naming Jamaat-e-Islami, he criticized the present and former Ameer, stating that present Ameer attended the funeral prayers of Taliban Commander and the former Ameer used to say, Qatal fee Sabilillah is right.
He said key Taliban leaders were arrested from the houses of the members of this party.He said no matter if people do not like him but they should not support ‘munafiq’.He asked the Army, MI and ISI to recognize black sheep within their ranks and take action against them. He said that some people inside the Army Public School had facilitated the attackers. They took the attackers to the school canteen and provided them weapons that were kept there.
He said that the world’s failed sit-in leader had supported talks with Taliban.He said to save Pakistan, Taliban must be eliminated.He said that Shia and Sunni are brothers. He said that Quaid-e-Azam belonged to Khoja Shia Asnae Ashary school of thought.
He said there were five Imams Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal, Imam Abu Hanifa, Imam Shafi, Imam Malik and Imam Sadiq but they never ever called each other ‘kafir’.He said Islam is a religion of peace and its teachings are for peace and brotherhood, but these Taliban are the enemies of religion, he said.
He asked the participants that whether anybody who kills Muslim in the name of Islam, is Muslim? The emotionally charged supporters shouted, “Kafir, Kafir”.He also demanded that operation ‘Zarb-e-Azb” should be expanded to entire country and demanded action against Taliban and its supporters. He said operation Zarb-e-Azb should continue till elimination of last terrorist from the country.
Hussain paid tribute to the victims of Army Public School and said that the lights of knowledge were put off by the terrorists. He saluted Pak Army and other law-enforcement agencies for countering terrorism.He asked his followers whether they want Islam or Taliban, they replied loudly, ‘Taliban should be hanged”.
He also quoted social media buzzed with Jamia Hafsa students declaring themselves, “We are Daish, we would react if action against us taken”.Altaf demanded from Army to either set Lal Masjid on fire or bulldozed it to stop extremism and terrorism once for all.
Without naming religio-political party he criticized that they wanted to hold dialogue with the Taliban as they are our brothers and termed all those who support Taliban as, “munafiq”. They are cunning, hypocrite and damaging Muslims under the garb of Islam and our last Prophet (PBUH) had clearly given instructions that they are out of Islam, he said.
Hussain said no religion teaches violence, adding that whoever does wrong in the name of religion is a culprit.The MQM chief, on the occasion, demanded arrest of Lal Masjid’s chief cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz, who openly justifies acts of Taliban and other militant groups and has refused to condemn the Taliban attack on Peshawar school.
Hussain also demanded closure of Jamia Hafsa, a radical religious seminary on the premises of Islamabad’s Lal Masjid, the site of an army operation and siege in 2007.On this occasion, he also announced memorial reference for the martyrs of Peshawar in London on December 21 and appealed to all to participate in it.
He also demanded early holding of local bodies election and formation of new administrative units and new provinces for the better governance and urged the government to immediately pass bill by making amendment for carving out new provinces.
Earlier, Nisar Ahmed Khuro, Senior Parliamentary leader, also the minister said that today’s assembly declared war against terrorism adding that PPP had sacrificed its leaders in this war and we had also buried our leaders. “We have not forgotten December 27 and October 18 when our leadership Benazir Bhutto was attacked, we would also not forgive those who snatched our future.
Kamran Tessori of PML-F said that all the political parties are united and credit goes to MQM Chief Altaf Hussain now its our responsibility to unite at one agenda, fight terrorism.Haleem Adil Sheikh of PML Q while strongly condemning Peshawar carnage also saluted MQM chief who united all the political parties on one platform.
Nihal Hashmi, President of PML N Karachi repeated the message of prime minister during his speech in the All Parties Conference that we do not want trade, we want future of our children and their protection.
Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui termed December 16, darkest in the history of Pakistan after 1971 war in which we lost one part of the country. The Peshawar carnage has defamed Pakistan in the world.He said that political leadership of the country is confused; we have to decide who is with Pakistan who is not. We have to take decision now.Later, activists and leaders of the party lit candles at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in memory of the Peshawar schoolchildren.
