Red Zone under serious terror threat

ISLAMABAD: The Red Zone was under serious threats on Tuesday night when it was informed by the intelligence agencies that an explosive laden vehicle had entered Islamabad with one suicide attacker to hit a specific target, sources responsible for security of the Red Zone, disclosed on Tuesday night.
The sources said the sensitive intelligence agencies have asked the law-enforcment agencies to adopt strong measures to counter any such attempt of terrorism. The sources said the intelligence agencies have informed the interior ministry in threat alert that the explosive laden vehicle has left for Islamabad about a week back.
“Chief of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Dr. Tahirul Qadri isthe key target of different terrorist outfits attached with the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP),” the sources said, adding that the PAT leader could be targeted at the Red Zone. Meanwhile, top civil and military authorities met on Tuesday night to review the security measures adopted to secure Red Zone and PTI/PAT sit-ins. The meeting continued till late night.
