Eight militants killed in Orakzai Agency clash

KALAYA: Eight militants were killed and two others sustained injuries in a clash between the militants and members of a pro-government peace committee (Lashkar) in Sepah village in lower parts of Orakzai Agency on Saturday, tribal sources said.
The sources said that the clash took place when the militants stormed the village early in the morning. Eyewitnesses said members of the peace body engaged the militants. Both sides used heavy weapons in the clash that lasted almost three hours.
The sources said that eight militants were killed and another two suffered wounds in the exchange of fierce gunfight.
Official sources said that the villagers had raised the Lashkar to take on the militants.
The security forces and members of the Levies Force cordoned off the area after the clash and launch search operation.
