People protest prolonged power outages

MANSEHRA: A large number of people took to the streets and blocked the Karakoram Highway against the prolonged and unscheduled power outages in the district late Saturday night.
“We warn government to immediately restore powers supply from Khan Khwar Hydropower Project or else we would be left with no other option but to cut the power supply to the national grid from this power project,” Shahzada Gustsap Khan told the protest gathering at Shinkiari.
A large number of people gathered at the KKH and raised anti- government and Wapda slogans. “We give federal government final warning to restore power supply to the district from Khan Khwar Hydropower Project as people here have been experiencing over 18 hours power outage a day since its diversion to the national grid,” said the provincial minister.PML-N MPA Saleh Muhammad said that all local lawmakers of his party were against the diversion of power supply to national grid station from Khan Khwar Hydropower Project.
