Scholars slate waving Holy Quran

February 11, 2014

KARACHI: Revered scholars from all schools of thought have slated the waving of the Holy Quran for ulterior motives and criticised those declaring the Constitution of Pakistan as un-Islamic.
This was stated by Mufti Fazal Subhan of Jamia Binnoria while talking to world renowned scholar Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain, the anchor of famous ‘Aalim Online’ programme of Geo News. Mufti Fazal Subhan said that it would be tantamount to ridiculing the Holy Book.
Chief of Tanzeemul-Masajid Ahle Sunnat Pakistan Mufti Abid Mubarik said that talks (with the Taliban) have become a laughing stock. He said that it is ridiculous that terrorist attacks and talks go on simultaneously.
Both the scholars condemned the martyrdom of nine persons including a young girl at a Baldia Town Astana. Mufti Fazal Subhan said that no religion allows killing others.Mufti Abid Mubarik also slated the attack and regretted that the perpetrators of the crime have not yet been nabbed.
Central leader of Majlis-i-Wahdatul-Muslimeen Allama Ameen Shaheedi said that when one runs short of arguments, he moulds the verses of the Holy Quran for ulterior motives. President Jamiat Ahle Hadith Balochistan Maulana Mohammad Ali Turab said that there is a consensus on the Constitution of Pakistan and it would be ill-advised to make it controversial.
Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain said that to wave the Holy Quran is despicable. He said those who do not believe in the necessity of the Constitution in Islam must remember that Syedna Farooq-i-Azam gave the best Constitution ever to the world, which was based on Quran and Sunnah.
