Confusion about identity of TTP man detained in Afghanistan

PESHAWAR: Is the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander for Mohmand Agency detained by the International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF) in Afghanistan on Saturday the spokesman for the group who used to go by the name Ikramullah Mohmand or someone else?
In Mohmand Agency and elsewhere, there was confusion about the identity of the detained Pakistani militant operating from Afghanistan as his name was mentioned as Ikramullah Turabi.
Journalists and tribal elders in Mohmand Agency said they didn’t know anyone in the TTP using the name Ikramullah Turabi. “Perhaps, the detained person is Ikramullah Mohmand, the spokesman for TTP Mohmand Agency, who has now added Turabi to his name,” a journalist in the area said.
Ikramullah Mohmand used to frequently interact with the members of the media to give them news of TTP activities in Mohmand Agency and beyond. He and a number of other TTP fighters and supporters fled to Afghanistan under the leadership of their commander Abdul Wali, also known as Omar Khalid Khurasani.
