UN peacekeeping operations Lt-Gen Maqsood appointed military adviser

UNITED NATIONS: UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon announced on Monday the appointment of Lieutenant General Maqsood Ahmad of the Pakistan Army as Military Adviser for Peacekeeping Operations of the UN.Lt Gen Ahmed replaces Senegal’s Lt Gen Babacar Gaye, whose tour of duty ended on July 8, 2013. Lt Gen Maqsood Ahmad, 55, recently completed his duties as Corps Commander in Pakistan’s Armed Forces, an appointment that he had held since February 2013.
