Six killed as shells from Afghanistan land in SWA
WANA: Six persons were killed and four others injured when mortar shells fired from Afghanistan’s Paktika province landed in a border village of South Waziristan on Friday evening.
Government officials and tribal sources said 16 shells fired from Afghanistan landed in Baghar village near Angoor Adda of South Waziristan tribal region. They said the mortar shells exploded and killed six people.
Tribesmen in Angoor Adda, which is about 65 kilometers west of South Waziristan headquarters of Wana, also said that six villagers were killed and four injured in the attack.They said all the shells were fired from across the border in Afghanistan but it was not clear who was behind the attack.
