Peshawar Airbase attack report submitted to PAF

January 03, 2013
PESHAWAR: An intelligence report into a brazen militant attack on the Peshawar air force base was presented to the Pakistan Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt on Wednesday.
The report has not found complicity of any insider in the attack. Intelligence sources told Geo News that five out of 10 militants had not been able to detonate their suicide jackets while five of them took shelter in a populous area and later exploded their explosives attached to their bodies.
They said that the suicide vest carried C-4 type explosive material up to four kilogram. The report also dubbed the population near the airbase as security loophole.
