Cell in FIA to probe victimisation of Hindus

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has established a cell at the FIA Headquarters, Islamabad, to comprehensively look into the matter of alleged migration of Hindus and Sikhs from Sindh to India through the Wagah border or Khokhrapar, the FIA said.
The cell will be supervised by Zafar Awan, Director Immigration and Anti-Human Smuggling, while its other members would be Deputy Director FIA Sukkur (member), Deputy Director FIA, Hyderabad, Deputy Director FIA Immigration, Lahore.
After publication of news in this regard, Federal Minister for Interior Rehman Malik directed Director General, FIA, to establish this cell.The mandate of the cell is to entertain, register and enquire into all the complaints received from such Hindu citizens of Pakistan who feel aggrieved due to any alleged maltreatment or victimisation in any form such as forced marriages. Such complaints will be inquired into by FIA and will be referred to the authorities concerned for immediate redress.
