PESHAWAR: Three employees of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) were killed in an attack by suspected militants in the Frontier Region, Bannu, on Wednesday.
Bannu’s District Police Officer, Sajjad Khan, on being approached confirmed to The News that the three officials were slain in the semi-tribal area of FR Bannu. He said the slain men were low-ranking intelligence officials. However, he didn’t provide the names of the deceased or other details. A fourth ISI official was wounded in the attack and has to be hospitalized, he confirmed. The vehicle in which the ISI men were travelling was ambushed by the waiting militants on a road in FR Bannu, which serves as a buffer between Bannu district and North Waziristan. The vehicle was reportedly fired at from different directions.
