Peace body member, two militants killed in Bara

BARA: Two militants and a member of peace committee were killed in Akakhel area of Bara tehsil in Khyber Agency on Wednesday, official sources said.
The sources said that Said Marjan, a member of security forces-backed peace committee, was kidnapped by militants of banned Lashkar-e-Islam from his house in Akakhel area of Bara. His mutilated body was found in the area early in the day.
The sources said that in a tit-for-tat response, the infuriated members of the peace committee killed two captives identified as Jamal Daar and Shehzad of the Lashkar-e-Islam and dumped their bodies in Mantalab area of Akakhel.
Meanwhile, the security forces destroyed three houses of the militants and arrested three suspected persons along with small quantity of arms during search operation in Droada area of Akakhel Bara. Following the end of search operation, the militants gathered in nearby Sama Garhi area and demolished the house of Alam Khan, leader of peace committee formed by the Akakhel tribesmen.
