ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday granted interim bail till February 25 to superintendent and deputy superintendent of Adiyala Jail allegedly involved in the case of disappearance of 11 prisoners.
A four-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the case. Superintendent Adiyala Jail Saeedullah Gondal and Deputy Superintendent Khalid Bashir appeared in the court and requested the court to grant them bail.
The court granted them interim bail against surety of Rs100,000 each till February 25. It may be recalled that superintendent and deputy superintendent of Adiyala Jail had fled after their bail pleas were rejected by the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench.
