Five oil tankers blown up near Pak-Afghan border

LANDIKOTAL: Five oil tankers were blown up in a parking lot near the Pak-Afghan border in Khyber Agency on Tuesday, tribal sources said.
The sources said three blasts took place at 4:45 p.m. in the parking area at Torkham border in which five oil tankers were completely burnt to ashes. It, however, caused no loss of life in the incident.
An eyewitness, Arshad Khan, told The News by phone that there were over 100 oil tankers parked in the area. He said before the clearance for moving across the border all the Nato supply trucks and tankers remain parked in the parking lot. He said there were no arrangements to stop the incidents of this nature. After the incident on Tuesday, the drivers hurriedly shifted their tankers randomly to various places.
Meanwhile, the political administration confirmed the incident and said that only one blast occurred in the area. The sources said the political administration had already warned the drivers and transporters to ensure security of their trucks and tankers.
