PFF ropes in sponsorship for Premier League kits

KARACHI: Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) finally struck a deal with the corporate sector which will sponsor the kits of the 12 Premier League teams which will be seen in action later this summer.
After the press briefing, PFF Director Manager Club Development and Media Shahid Khokhar told ‘The News’ on Tuesday that Ballon Star Group will sponsor the kits of participating teams for the next four years.
He added that Shezan Baker will help in sponsoring the launching and closing ceremony.
“We would like to launch the Premier League in a professional way as is done in foreign leagues. We would hold a trophy unveiling ceremony to launch the season in a befitting way. And then the closing will also be very colourful,” he said.
Shahid said that the step would help attract others also to support football.
“Although, it may seem to be a small step towards promotion but I hope it will further attract the corporate sector to come and back Pakistan football.”
At the press briefing which held at the PFF headquarters in Lahore, Shahid was also flanked by PFF Director Marketing and Integrity Fahad Khan, Shezan Bakers Director Bilal Afzal and Ballon Group Director Tahir Nadeem.
“We have come forward to support Pakistan’s football after noticing positive development in the game. We have decided to help PFF and extend support to football,” Ballon Group Director Tahir Nadeem said.
Shezan Bakers Director Bilal Afzal also vowed his support for Pakistan football.
“Pakistan Premier League show that football in Pakistan has gained momentum and now has reached the stage where the corporate sponsors have started backing the sport,” Bilal said.
Fahad Khan said it was a great moment for Pakistan’s football.
“The PFF is much pleased to announce kit sponsorships for the PPL teams and PPL itself. This is a memorable moment in the history of Pakistan’s football for which we are grateful to Tahir Nadeem, Ballon Group, Sialkot, who has come forward as sponsors to provide free of cost kits, footballs and gears to the PPL teams,” Fahad said. “This will be for four years,” he said.
“We also thank Bilal Afzal, Shezan Regale, for joining hands with the PFF as PPL 2015 launching and closing sponsor,” he said.
“We also request the corporate sector to take a step forward and explore the unlimited opportunities of brand promotion through football.”
