Butcher held for selling substandard meat

ARIFWALA: Veterinary Officer Dr Shahid Hamid on Saturday raided and arrested a butcher for selling substandard meat.
On a tip-off, the veterinary officer raided the shop of butcher Kashif Ali near Sabzi Mandi and arrested him for selling substandard meat. Police have registered a case.
FAKE CHEQUES: City police on Saturday booked two fraudsters in separate incidents here.
Accused Iqbal gave a fake cheque of Rs 600,000 to Qamar, which was bounced the concerned bank. In another incident, accused Irshad gave a bogus cheque to Maqbool Ahmad, which was bounced the concerned bank.
PRAYER LEADER BOOKED: Police on Saturday booked a prayer leader under the Amplifier Act here.
The police registered the case against Maulana Muhammad Yar Huzoori under the Amplifier Act.
IMPRISONMENT: A local judicial magistrate on Saturday awarded seven years imprisonment to an accused in an attempt to murder case.
According to prosecution, accused Ahmad Bhatti of Chak 73/EB shot at and injured Ghulam Hussain of the same village. Later, Sadar police had registered a case.
