Checkpost abolished after complaints

Checkpost abolished after complaints

PESHAWAR: The political authorities of Landikotal on Saturday abolished a checkpost in Torkham area following a number of complaints from the general public.
A source said Assistant Political Agent (APA) Landikotal Tayyab Abdullah issued a notification for the abolishment of the checkpost on Torkham border.
The source said there were complaints that money was being taken by the Khassadars on the checkpost from the push-cart owners, who transport goods from Pakistan to Afghanistan.
“These push-carts were already going through the main checkpost on the border. The additional post was not needed,” said the source requesting anonymity.
