Korangi made sixth district of Karachi

The Sindh government has carved a new district from Karachi Division, increasing the numbers of districts in the city to six.
The newly created Korangi district comprises the areas of Korangi, Shah Faisal Colony, Landhi and Model Colony. Previously, Korangi was part of District East, according to a notification issued by the revenue department on Tuesday.
The government has also changed the limits of Karachi’s existing districts of south, east, Malir and west.
The government has created new sub-divisions and Talukas and changed the limits of the existing sub-divisions and Talukas in Karachi Division.
District South consists of seven sub-divisions: Saddar, Arambagh, Civil Lines,
Garden, Lyari, Harbour and Mauripur, while District Korangi comprises four sub-divisions: Model Colony, Shah Faisal, Korangi and Landhi.
District East Karachi comprises four sub-divisions: Ferozabad, Jamshed Quarters, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Gulzar-e-Hijri (Scheme-33).
District Malir has six sub-divisions: Bin Qasim, Ibrahim Hyderi, Shah Mureed, Gaddap, Airport and Murad Memon.
District West Karachi comprises five sub-divisions: Orangi, Mominabad, SITE, Baldia and Manghopir.
District Central has five sub-divisions: Liaquatabad, Gulberg, Nazimabad, North Nazimabad and New Karachi.
