MQM activist among six killed

A political activist and five more people were shot dead across the city on Sunday.
An activist of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement was shot dead near Haroon Shopping Centre in Bufferzone. Mohammed Amjad, 32, was returning home with his wife on a motorcycle when two armed motorcyclists wearing helmets opened fire at him and fled, said SSP Central Amir Farooqi. The victim was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he expired.
‘Gangster’ killed
In Shah Latif Town, armed men gunned down an alleged associate of Arshad Pappu in Shafi Mohammed Baloch Goth. Jameel Baloch, 25, had left his relative’s house, where he had shifted just four days ago, in the evening when two armed men on a motorcycle shot him near Manzil Petrol Pump, said Shah Latif SHO Ali Hasan Sheikh. He was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where doctors pronounced him dead. Baloch suffered six bullet wounds. Police suspected the man was murdered by his rivals of the Lyari gang war groups.
Rickshaw driver slain
In Nazimabad, a rickshaw driver who lived in New Karachi, was shot dead near the Nishan-e-Haider Chowk in Rizvia. Imran, 25, was travelling with a lady passenger toward Nazimabad when two men on a motorcycle opened fire at him, said Farooqi.
Labourer shot dead
In Sohrab Goth, a labourer who lived in Safoora Goth, was shot dead in Jamali Goth. Abdul Razzaq Bengali, 23, was sitting at a hotel when two assailants on a motorcycle opened fire at him and fled, said Sohrab Goth SHO Naeem Khan. He was taken to the ASH where he expired. Police suspected that Bengali was killed by his in-laws as he had married a woman from the Chandio tribe two years ago of his free will. He had been continuously receiving murder threats.
Another labourer killed
Armed men gunned down Deen Muhammad, 35, near Nullah Stop, Machhar Colony, said the Docks police. The victim, who hailed from Badin and was a labourer, had arrived in the city in the afternoon to meet his relatives. At night when he was standing outside the house, two men on a motorcycle opened fire on him. He was taken to CHK where he expired.
Teenager gunned down
An unidentified teenage boy, appearing to be 18 or 19 years old, was shot in Sultanabad by two men on a motorcycle, said the Manghopir police. SHO Aslam Joya said he was shifted to the ASH where he was pronounced dead.

Three people were killed in separate accidents in the city, police said on Sunday.
A teenager was killed in a road mishap in Orangi Town within the jurisdiction of the Pakistan Bazaar police station.
Sarfaraz, 17, son of Amanullah, was killed when his motorcycle slipped and his skull smashed on a footpath while he was going towards his residence.
Electrocuted
A middle-aged man died of electrocution at his residence near National University situated in Cattle Colony in Shah Lateef Town police limits.
Taj Wali, 45, was allegedly fixing an illegal power connection from a live wire when he got electrocuted.
Drowned
A woman drowned after falling into a well inside her house.
Brigade police said 30-year-old Fatima Ayesha was fetching water from the well when she slipped and fell in it.
