GHALLANAI: The security forces on Monday recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition during a search operation in Halimzai tehsil of the Mohmand Agency. Talking to reporters, Political Agent Ambar Ali Khan and Commandant Mohmand Rifles Col Mushtaq said the forces had arrested a would-be suicide bomber and his accomplice in the agency on January 31. The officials said the forces launched a massive search operation in Halimzai tehsil after the arrest of the bomber.The forces raided a house in Shanikhel in Halimzai and discovered an underground bunker in the house. “ He said five tons of explosives, 25 landmines, 300 litres chemical, five anti-aircraft and mortar guns, 75 RR guns and Kalashnikov rifles, thousands of cartridges, mortar shells and suicide jackets, satellite phones and jihadi literature were recovered from the bunkers. The officials said the security forces arrested 50 militants during three months and claimed that 80 percent of area in Mohmand Agency had been cleared.
