Interesting facts about USS Abraham Lincoln

LAHORE: Giving factual details about USS Abraham Lincoln, a carrier deployed to the United States 5th Fleet in the Arabian Gulf, the esteemed UAE-based newspaper “Khaleej Times” has revealed that it has a displacement capacity of 97,000 tonnes.
While giving a first-hand account of flight operations on-board the USS Abraham Lincoln and quoting the US Navy as its source for the facts and figures, the “Khaleej Times” wrote in its today’s (February 22) edition that this massive carrier was commissioned on Nov 11, 1989.
The newspaper also disclosed that not fewer than 15,000-20,000 meals were served on board this gigantic war ship, which had 1,900 shipboard telephones, four flight deck catapults and was equipped with 2,530 tonnes of AC capacity that was enough to serve 800 homes.
The paper further wrote that 13,000 sodas were consumed aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, no less than 600 gallons of milk was drunk daily and 620 pounds of hamburgers were eaten by human on-board.
While 180 dozen eggs were consumed on this ship, 800 pounds of vegetables and 900 pounds of fruits were also eaten on daily basis.
Furthermore, 5,550 pounds of laundry was cleaned on the deck and 250 haircuts were given to the soldiers based on the USS Abraham Lincoln.
