• Four girls among six kidnapped

      SIX people, including four girls, were kidnapped in various parts of the City on Sunday. A 24-year-old youth, Muhammad Ali, was kidnapped in Gulberg, Roma Pervaiz in Gawalmandi, Saba in Shahdara, Samreen in Chung, Adnan Shah in Nishtar Colony and Ramzan was kidnapped in Nawab Town.

      IGP visits police station: The inspector general of police, Punjab, visited Faizabad police station, Nankana Sahib district, on Sunday. Faizabad SHO briefed the IGP about the law and order situation and problems being faced by the staff in discharging operational duties. The IG assured the station officials that all their problems would be resolved.

      FIA arrest SDO, 57 transformers seized : FIA officials arrested a suspended SDO and his two accomplices on charges of stealing and selling transformers to factory owners. The arrested persons were identified as Iqbal Butt, Zulfiqar and Kashif. The officials also recovered 57 transformers and official stickers from them.

      Meanwhile, FIA officials arrested a man, Sattar Ali, from Muridke on a charge of human trafficking. The officials also recovered five passports and stamps from his possession. Body found: Bhatti Gate police found the body of a 60-year-old man on Sunday.

      Police claimed that the man was an addict who died of national causes. The body has been shifted to morgue. Factory, house burnt: Goods worth thousands of rupees were reduced to ashes when a fire broke out in a factory in the Lohari area on Sunday. Cause of the fire was stated to be short circuit.

      Meanwhile, household items worth thousands of rupees were burnt when a fire broke out in a house in the Gulberg area. Cause of the fire was stated to be short circuit. Firefighters put the fire out after hectic efforts.

      Arms seized: Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) has seized weapons from six persons. Meanwhile, the PHP also reunited two children with their parents. Stolen cattle seized: Sadar Division investigation police arrested six robbers and recovered cattle and illicit weapons from their possession.

      The accused were identified as Riaz, Arshad, Irfan, Zohaib, Zeeshan and Tanveer. 10 accused booked: Burki police have registered a case against 10 persons for offering resistance to foil arrest of a notorious drug pusher. Police claimed to have arrested one Afzal in this regard.

      House gutted: Clothes, furniture and other items worth thousands of rupees were burnt when a fire broke out at a house near Gawalmundi police station on Sunday.

      The fire erupted due to short circuit. However, no loss of life or injury was reported till the filing of this report. Rescue 1122 fire service and Edhi ambulances reached the spot. Firefighters put out the fire after hectic efforts.
