IT Media City dedicated to Arfa Karim

Minister for Information and Technology Mohammad Raza Haroon, on the guidelines of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain, has announced dedicating the IT Media City, Karachi, to the Microsoft Wonder Girl Arfa Karim. From now onwards, the city shall be referred to as Arfa Karim IT Media City, Karachi.
Arfa Karim Randhawa (1995–2012) was a Pakistani student and computer prodigy who in 2004, at the age of nine, became the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional (MCPs) in the world, a title she kept until 2008.
It may be mentioned here that the IT Media City is a project of the Sindh IT Department being implemented to develop a modern media city in Karachi on 200 acres of land near the Super Highway.
Meanwhile, Altaf Hussain expressed grief and sorrow over the death of Arfa Karim. He said that Pakistan had lost a precious talent and the entire nation was mourning the untimely death of the young IT expert. He sympathised with the bereaved family members.
