‘Imran most popular leader in religious circles’

Azam Khan Swati, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) latest entrant, has condemned the federal government’s decision to seal the unregistered Madrassas by the end of the year.
He said this during a meeting with Mufti Mohammad Naeem of the Jamia Binnoria Aalamia at the latter’s office on Tuesday. “It’s a disgrace that our own government is trying to appease the US and the religious seminaries and the education imparted by them are being undermined.”
Madrassas could play a very positive role in society but unfortunately, the government has always depicted a bleak and negative picture of them, he added. He said that as the PTI had now entered the mainstream politics, it intended to bring a positive change in the country with the help of Pakistan’s religious leaders.
Mufti Naeem promised to extend full cooperation to the PTI, terming Imran Khan the most popular leader in religious circles. Swati also invited the cleric for the PTI’s upcoming rally in Karachi on 25th December.
Meanwhile, PTI’s student wing visited the Quaid’s mausoleum, the venue of the much-awaited rally. “The younger generation of Pakistan is ready to play its role for the betterment of the country. We believe in Imran Khan’s leadership,” said President Insaf Student Federation (ISF) Arsalan.
The young activists are also actively distributing pamphlets and other party literature around the city, especially college and university campuses. “We are the future of Pakistan. And we want politics of peace, not hatred,” he added. He said that the December 25 rally would be a referendum against the corrupt rulers.
