A day without dengue death

NO death was caused by dengue fever in any hospital of the City on Sunday.
The downward trend of new patients of dengue fever also continues in Lahore as a total of 50 patients have been tested positive in different hospitals in the City on Sunday, which brought the total number of patients to 33,182 in Lahore alone.
As many as eight patients were tested positive in the Mayo Hospital, seven in the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, five in the Jinnah Hospital, 14 in the Services Hospital and another 16 patients were diagnosed dengue fever positive in different public and private hospitals, laboratories and clinics in the provincial metropolis.
Meanwhile, the Health Department has confirmed one death in Punjab due to dengue fever during the last 24 hours, which brought total figure of deaths to 335 in Punjab and 289 in Lahore.
According to Health Department’s report released on Sunday, the total number of dengue patients reported in Punjab from January 2011 to-date has reached 21,275 out of which over 17,454 were diagnosed in Lahore alone.
A total of 30 patients, confirmed of dengue fever, have been reported in the province out of which 23 fresh cases have been reported in Lahore during the last 24 hours. The number of deaths caused by the epidemic remained at 365 in the provincial metropolis.At present 186 dengue patients are under treatment in different hospitals of Punjab out of which 157 are admitted in different hospitals of Lahore.
