Widespread protests over killing of Hindu doctors
HYDERABAD: A large number of members of the Hindu Panchayat Committee in Kotri took out a protest rally against the killings of three doctors in Shikarpur. The rally marched from the Old Campus of the Sindh University to the local press club on Thursday. The participants chanted slogans against the Shikarpur police and demanded of the authorities concerned to apprehend the killers of Hindu doctors.
Our Larkana correspondent adds: Secretary General of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Senator Dr Khalid Mehmood Soomro has strongly condemned the killing of three Hindu doctors He said the incident was sorrowful and the JUI would support the constitution of a judicial commission to probe the incident.
Our Lahore correspondent adds: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), Punjab, has expressed deep sorrow and concern over the killing of four Hindus, including Dr Ashok, Dr Naraish, Dr Ajeet and Satia Pal who were murdered in District Shikarpur outside their clinic.
PTI Punjab President Ahsan Rasheed, General Secretary Dr Yasmin Rashid and Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas said this was an act of target killing and a clear evidence of the government’s false claim of improving the law and order in the country.
Our Nawabshah correspondent adds: The members of Nawabshah Hindu Panchayat took out protest rally here on Thursday to express concern over the killing of three Hindu doctors in Chak town. The participants of the rally were holding banners and placards with slogans for protection to the Hindu community.
Our Rawalpindi correspondent adds: Federal Revenue Alliance Union (CBA) FBR on Thursday strongly condemned the murder of an employee of Regional Tax Office, near Shikarpur, and urged the concerned authorities to arrest the killer. Nerash Kumar, an employee of the Regional Tax Office Sukkur, was murdered on Eid day along with two doctors belonging to the Hindu community.
APP adds: Adviser to Prime Minister for National Harmony, Dr Paul Bhatti has also strongly condemned the murder of three Hindu doctors in Shikarpur district on Eid day.
