Defence Day celebrated with
renewed pledge to defend country

JHELUM: The 46th Defence Day of Pakistan was celebrated with a renewed pledge and commitment to defend the country’s boundaries from enemies.
A ceremony in this connection was held at the memorial of Major Akram Shaheed Nishan-e-Haider at Major Akram Shaheed Park. A large number of army officers, DCO Mirza Mehmoodul Hassan, DPO Tayyab Hafeez Cheema and family members of Maj Akram Shaheed attended the function.
GOC Maj-Gen Sajjad Rasool was the chief guest and he laid a floral wreath on the memorial of Maj Akram Shaheed. Speaking on the occasion, Maj-Gen Sajjad said that living nations never forgot their heroes. He said: “We are proud of our soldiers, who presented the gift of their lives for the sovereignty of the country. We will follow the footsteps of our heroes.”
