DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested some suspected persons in connection with the attack on the police station (PS) in Kulachi tehsil.
Talking to reporters, Deputy Inspector General Muhammad Imtiaz Shah said that the suicide bombing couple was well trained to kill the guard at the entrance to the police station and kept shooting to death other cops in different rooms.
He said the building and official records of the police station were safe while only the boundary wall had been damaged in the incident. The official said the bombers used phosphorus chemical in the explosives, which was usually used to cause a fire and burn material. He said two pairs of legs, the woman’s head and two Kalashnikov rifles had been found from the scene.
The senior cop said only the couple took part in the attack while another person stated to be a local escaped after leading the couple to the police station. He added that the police had been combing the area for the arrest of that suspected person. Imtiaz Shah said the police had arrested some suspected persons while efforts were on to arrest others wanted to the police in the attack.
