SUKKUR: Former MNA Mir Darya Khan Khoso, who died at the Aga Khan Hospital, Karachi, late on Thursday, was laid to rest in his native village Deenpur, near Thul, on Friday. He was 80.

Darya Khan Khoso, who is the father of Sukkur DCO Shafiq Ahmed Khoso, was shifted to the Aga Khan Hospital a few days ago after he suffered a heart attack.

The Namaz-e-Janaza was offered in the Friday afternoon, which was attended, among others, by Sindh ministers, including Papoo Shah, Sukkur District Nazim Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Naib Nazim Abdullah Ghumro, Kashmore District Naib Nazim Noor Muhammad Khoso, Kashmore Taluka Nazim Abdul Rauf Khoso, Tangwani Taluka Nazim Ashraf Bijarani, Thul Taluka Nazim Ghulam Akbar Banglani, RPO Sukkur Muhammad Bachal Sangri, DIG Police Larkana Babul Jakhrani, Sardar Zulfiqar Sarki, and a number of MNAs and MPAs.

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, Senate Chairman Muhammad Mian Soomro, federal ministers Liaqat Jatoi, Ghous Bux Mahar, Justice Abdul Razzaq Thaheem, provincial ministers Nadir Akmal Leghari, Syed Sadaruddin Shah Rashdi, PML-N leader Mian Nawaz Sharif, PPP MNA Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah and opposition leader in the National Assembly Maulana Fazlur Rehman offered their condolences by phone.
