Sindh Governor Mohammad Zubair has said that Pakistan and Indonesia have been enjoying very warm and brotherly relations since long, and that the ties are based on trust and mutual respect.
He was talking with the outgoing consul general of Indonesia in Karachi, Dempo Awang Yuddie, here on Monday. He stated that there was an urgent need to further boost these ties with even more economic cooperation between the two countries. As economic activities hold the secret of success for any country, he said, we must do our utmost to further expand and enhance trade between Pakistan and Indonesia.
The governor said that in the last five years, Karachi had become more peaceful and vibrant as compared to 2013. He added that economic, social, cultural, literary and sport activities were in full swing there, as evidenced by continuous international events in the city.
He lauded Dempo Awang for making untiring efforts to further cement the relations between two countries. He also appreciated his role in providing help and assistance to the people of the province during time of need. Dempo Awang thanked the support and cooperation from all stakeholders during his posting period in Karachi. He said that he was taking back fond memories with him.
