Napa programmes to resume from today

January 07, 2011
After the postponement of a theatrical performance by final-year students of the National Academy of Performing Arts (Napa) following the assassination of Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer, the play will now resume from today.
“The brutal and totally unexpected assassination of the Punjab governor has shocked everyone alike,” said a statement issued by the Napa on Thursday.
Now the events will take place after the three days’ mourning announced by the Sindh government.
The play Oedipus Rex will be performed by final-year students of the Theatre Department on January 7 and January 8 at the Arts Council Theatre at 8:00pm.
Meanwhile, the musical soiree — Gana Bajana — will resume from January 9.
