Fazl always protected own interests: Khattak

NOWSHERA: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said Friday Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl head Maulana Fazlur Rehman always joined various governments to protect own interests.

He was speaking at a public meeting in Azakhel Payan town and a function arranged in Nowshera Cantonment. Member National Assembly Dr Imran Khattak, District Nazim Liaquat Khattak and others addressed the public meeting at Azakhel. The function arranged at Nowshera Cantonment was addressed by Ravi Kumar, Shaukat Khan, Haroon Sarab Dayal, Lal Sharma and Sardar Chaudhry.

Adil Pervez, Aslam Chan, Nadeem Chan, Shahzeb, Tariq and others announced joining the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on the occasion. The chief minister came down hard on the JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and said he remained a partner of every government in the past. Pervez Khattak advised Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq not to be lured by the JUI-F head and join any alliance. “Sirajul Haq will lose credibility if he joined hands with JUI-F,” he added.The chief minister said the JUI-F did no service to religion when he was in power. “He is now terming the pro-Islamic steps taken by the PTI government as a foreign conspiracy.
