PIA Haj operations to end on Dec 21

KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has started bringing back Haj pilgrims from Saudi Arabia as part of special flights, which will run till December 21, the airline said on Monday.
The Hujjaj of the first Post-Haj flight PK 4062 to Karachi were welcomed and received by Managing Director PIA Aijaz Haroon and other senior officials. “Due to congestion at Jeddah Airport and strict security measures by Jeddah Civil Aviation Authority the flights departures from Jeddah were behind schedule,” it said.
Arrival delays will continue for the next couple of days till early allotment of bays by Jeddah CAA and reduction in passengers’ congestion of various countries at Jeddah airport, it said. At a time around 60,000 Hajis of different countries are present at Jeddah Airport for their respective flights of various airlines. Pakistan International Airlines will operate 255 Haj flights from Saudi Arabia bringing back 102, 991 Hajis to Pakistan.
