Robbers kill marriage hall owner

Two robbers gunned down a marriage hall owner over resistance near Camp Jail on Monday.
The victim was identified Sheikh Afzal, 50, a resident of Gulshan Colony, Defence. He ran a marriage hall on Lytton Road. He was on way back to home when two motorcyclists intercepted him near Camp Jail. The armed robbers tried to snatch cash and a cell phone from Afzal and injured him when he offered resistance.
The injured was rushed to a nearby hospital by Rescue 1122 where he died.
Lytton Road police have registered a case against unidentified robbers with no arrest so far till the filing of the report. Later, police shifted the body to city morgue for autopsy. Investigation was underway. —Correspondent
