• KWSB MD dissatisfied with recovery status

      The Managing Director (MD), Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB), Sajjad Hussain Abbasi, has expressed dissatisfaction over the recovery status of the utility and to improve the recovery of revenue department he has suggested to the government of Sindh to empower the directors of tax department with magisterial powers.

      He said that by empowering the directors of tax department, strict action could be taken against all defaulters and companies which owed millions of rupees to the water utility.

      According to a press release of the KWSB received here on Monday, he expressed these views during a high-level meeting which was supervised by Haq Parast Members of the Provincial Assembly, Rehan Zafar, Syed Manzar Imam, Nishat Zia Qadri and Syed Khalid Ahmed.

      During the briefing these members were also informed that there were a lot of housing projects of big builders who neither obtained No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the organisation nor had legal water connections.
